GutActive Probiotics for Dogs & Cats

From: 15.33€ / 29.98 лв.

Health begins in the intestine and therefore, a balanced gastrointestinal flora is essential for a dog’s health.

Most of today’s commercial, highly-processed pet foods, are produced at very high temperatures, which destroy any live enzymes and probiotics present in the food. In essence, the food is dead, over-processed and in-organic. Enzymes, however, are vital in unlocking these food nutrients and aiding digestion.
Similarly, as your pet ages, production of enzymes declines which can be detrimental to their health.

Probiotics help to break down food components in the intestine and make them available to the body for utilisation. The fermented herbs support the balance of the intestinal flora and the entire gut microbiota. This promotes digestion and stimulates the immune system.

Using the finest ingredients the GutActive probiotics tincture is easy to incorporate into your pet’s diet (whether raw, canned or even kibble) and help them get their weekly dose of healthy digestive enzymes.

Just mix the correct quantity (see feeding guidelines tab) with your pet’s food and enjoy watching them thrive!

This dietary supplement is suitable for dogs of all sizes and in all life stages.

GutActive can be used as a regular gastrointestinal prophylaxis – especially after a long illness, antibiotic administration or during periods of stress, to support a healthy gastrointestinal flora.

Available in two sizes: 250ml & 500ml

Description

Bowel health is one of the top 10 reasons owners bring their pets for healthcare, but devoted pet parents can now rest easy with cdVet’s probiotics tincture!

Supporting your pet’s gastrointestinal health is a key factor in ensuring they are living the best life possible. Adding the Effective Microorganisms (probiotics) to your pet’s health regime can be a great way to deal with a current health concern, to use as preventative care to ward off future problems, or simply to maintain their general wellbeing.

GutActive for dogs & cats supports the gastro-intestinal function, especially in cases of nutritionally disturbed intestinal flora and digestive issues.

For the production of GutActive, cdVet uses fermented plant extracts from wild and spice herbs to create this powerful recipe, through a completely natural process. During this fermentation process, the probiotic microorganisms multiply, producing highly valuable substances, such as lactic acid, antioxidants, enzymes and vitamins.
As a result, this special blend of precious lactic acid bacteria and co., can regulate the pH in the digestive tract, while reducing the development of pathogenic bacteria, naturally. This makes GutActive a holistic product, with all components complementing each other and working in tandem.

Here are the highlights of the benefits of fermented herbs and botanicals:

  • They Address Your Pet’s Health Issues – Long before the production of lab-created medicines, humans relied on plants to ease their various health symptoms and discomforts. For instance, White Willow bark was used as early as 500 B.C. to treat pain and fevers. Turmeric has a long history in the Ayurvedic tradition for fighting rheumatism and inflammation. Plants and herbs are just as equally effective for our pets, with one of their greatest advantages being that they are most often free from unwanted side effects and toxins, making them safe for long-term use (though it’s always a good idea to check with your pet’s vet).
  • Probiotics Make For Cleaner, Healthier Guts – The fermentation process enhances herbs with probiotics and friendly yeast that detoxify your dog or cat’s body and keeps it clean as a whistle and regular as a military clock. Perhaps not the most delicate of subjects, but a well-functioning digestive system is critical to your animal’s overall health.
  • Improves Everyday Vitality – Fermented herbs keep your pet’s body shipshape by giving its immune system a boost to ward off disease and detoxifying it of nasty toxic build-up.
  • Bulk Up On Antioxidants – Antioxidants are molecules that bind with free radicals to prevent cellular damage in the body. Extensive cellular damage, or oxidative stress, has been linked to fatal diseases, such as cancer and auto-immune dysfunction. Plants are naturally full of antioxidants, and are the best way to make sure your cat or dog gets enough of these preventative elements.
  • Fermented Herbs are “Living” Plants – Fermentation keeps herbs alive, and thus their nutrients available, for a longer amount of time. Plants don’t simply die upon being harvested – think about tomatoes that continue to ripen after being picked.
  • Increased Plant Bioavailability – Fermenting increases the benefits plants have to offer by breaking down their sugars, making them easier to absorb and put to use in the animal (and human!) body.

GutActive is:

♥  Milk-free and therefore very well suited for milk intolerance.

♥  Sugar-free and therefore also suitable for diabetics. During the fermentation process, the lactic acid bacteria multiply by breaking down the sugars and turning them into lactic and acetic acid. Only when the sugars are completely degraded, the fermentation process is complete.

♥  Contains no alcohol.

♥  The herbs contained are no longer available in the original form after fermentation and are thus compatible homeopathy and usually easily tolerated.

For optimal results, GutActive should be fed for at least 4 – 6 weeks. After that, either feed GutActive regularly 1 – 2 times a week or as and when required.

cdVet only uses light proof containers to package its Probiotics tinctures, thus ensuring that their valuable elements are not damaged by the sunlight.

What are Effective Microorganisms and what are they used for?

When we talk about bacteria, we automatically think of infections and diseases. However, there are also many good bacteria in amongst these microorganisms that, contrary to their disease-causing relatives, promote the right gastrointestinal environment and keep the organism healthy. These good bacteria include Effective Microorganisms (probiotics), which help to break down food components in the dog’s intestine and thus make them bioavailable to the organism. For a well-functioning digestive system, sufficient nutrient utilisation and a healthy gastrointestinal tract, it is essential that these important microorganisms are not outweighed by their bad, potentially pathogenic counterparts.

A healthy stomach and intestine – a question of balance

As is often the case in nature and the physiology of an organism, the right balance is decisive and neither side should be predominant. A dog’s gastrointestinal flora can experience an imbalance due to an infection, weakening of the immune system, parasites or a long course of medication or antibiotics. In addition to digestive issues and insufficient food utilisation, the weakening of the intestine, one of the most important immune organs in the body, can pave the way to infections and illnesses. Classic symptoms of an imbalance in a dog’s intestine are flatulence, recurrent diarrhoea, mouth odour, exhaustion, vomiting gastric acid and an increased susceptibility to infections.

Effective microorganisms (EM) for cleansing the basis

If an imbalance is suspected in the dog’s gastrointestinal flora, not only must the original cause be treated, but attention must also be paid to cleansing the intestine. Here, the focus is on the cleansing of the intestinal tract and subsequently restoring good intestinal flora.

There are over 300 different types of microorganisms in a dog’s digestive tract that support a controlled flow of all digestive processes. If these little helpers are slowly displaced, there can be increased deposits of toxins and digestive components on the mucous membranes of the intestine, which leads to a gradual increase in functional limitations. The aim of cleansing the intestine is to remove deposits and ensure a return of a good environment for microorganisms that work effectively.

EM – little effective helpers from Japan

The concept of effective microorganisms (EM) was developed by the Japanese Professor Teruo Higa. He advanced the theory that microorganisms working in the soil can be divided into negative, degrading bacteria, positive, building bacteria or opportunistic, neutral bacteria. When positive bacteria are added from the outside, the environment and the richness of nutrients in the soil can thus be positively influenced from the outside.

Liquid EM for the dog

Effective Microorganisms can easily be made available to the dog via e.g. a liquid dietary supplement. The liquid form of the microorganism supplement is created by fermenting various medicinal herbs designed for the respective condition using the Effective Microorganisms, such as lactic acid bacteria “Lactobacillus casei”, which promote lactic acid fermentation, and phototrophic bacteria such as “Rhodopseudomonas palustris”.

In addition to a general anabolic effect, EM’s are used to increase well-being and improve the intestinal immune system.

Who are EM suitable for?

A dietary supplement containing selected “good” bacteria is suitable for any dog, as a general prophylaxis, as well as for dogs following a long illness, those that have been on a course of antibiotics/medication for parasites or as a targeted course of treatment for animals in general stress situations to rebuild healthy gastrointestinal flora.
